Multiple people have claimed they know what will happen at Liverpool this summer.
Months before the summer window, there have been many reports and articles. Liverpool are planning to make some major changes to the squad in the upcoming window. However, they need to sort out their in-house problems first. The reds are still deadlocked in contract talks with multiple players. Not just stars who could leave in the next few months, even some players in their final year of their deals.
The trio of Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk have dominated the headlines. But, the likes of Caomhin Kelleher, Ibrahima Konate and Luis Diaz have recently had their futures questioned too.

Gary Lineker has his say on Liverpool star’s future

The past few months, many people have come out in public to speculate on the futures of the Liverpool players. Virgil Van Dijk had to shut down rumours about his contract a few weeks ago. Ex-Reds star Dejan Lovren also came out to speculate on Salah’s future. Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher even weighed in on the Mohamed Salah situation. However, no one really knows what is going to happen in the near future.
Now, Gary Lineker has his own opinion on what the Egyptian international will do this summer:
“I’ve got a feeling he will [sign a new contract].” he said on The Rest is Football podcast.
“It’s just too quiet. I’d think there’d be speculation. I’d be shocked if he doesn’t.
“Especially the way he jokes about things as well. You don’t do that if you’re going to bugger off. I might be wrong but I sense [he’ll stay].”
Lineker then revealed that he has spoken with Mohamed Salah the last time he visited Arne Slot. They had a conversation on how long players could play at the top level.
“He [Salah] asked me, ‘how old were you when you finished?’ And I said, ‘Well, English football, I finished when I was 32, and then I went to play in Japan for a couple of years’.
“And he went, ‘ah, you went for the money did you?’ And I said, ‘well, yeah, I suppose so’. And he went, ‘yeah, I might do the same’. He [then] winked at the press guy that was there. It was just a joke. But he has got that cheeky sense of humour.”
Salah’s future is still up in the air, but the forward has made it his mission to end the season with a Premier League win. Liverpool face Manchester City on Sunday.
