Diogo Jota has provided an injury update for Liverpool fans as the Premier League restart draws closer and closer.
The new season starts with Arsenal playing Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park before Liverpool face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday at lunchtime.
While fans were delighted to learn that Jota has signed a new contract, the forward confirmed that he will miss the start of the season.
We already knew that though – the bad news is that he should miss a couple more fixtures on top of that.
Diogo Jota has scored 34 goals for Liverpool across all competitions:

Jota provides injury update following his contract renewal
Jota suffered the injury setback during Liverpool’s pre-season tour from Asia as he triggered an injury he had sustained on international duty a month prior.
Speaking on the announcement of his new deal, Jota explained that he would be missing for “a few more weeks.”
“Unfortunately for me I had an upset in this pre-season because I got injured [in the] last game of the season playing with Portugal,” he said.
“So I was coming back in this pre-season, I felt it a little bit again. It will be a few more weeks, I would say.”
Darwin Nunez will expect stiff competition from Jota
Despite making a dream start against Manchester City at the weekend, Nunez will face competition for that starting role from the Portuguese international.
Personally think Darwin Nunez could improve Liverpool's attack even more this season.
Mane a great player for them, but Nunez offers them something completely different to what they had last season.
Strong, physical, electric pace, clinical finisher. Going to be a problem.

Having led the line for the first half of the season, Jota proved he was good enough to lead the line and score the necessary goals required.
His 15 goals and six assists in the league was a great return, especially considering Sadio Mane took over that role for most of the second half of the season.
Nunez will be in direct competition but it should push both players to new heights.
