Florian Wirtz says YES to Liverpool as Europe watches in disbelief

Liverpool are about to shake the foundations of the summer transfer window with their pursuit of Florian Wirtz. The club seem to have had a major breakthrough in talks with his camp as they push towards securing a deal to sign him from Bayer Leverkusen.

Florian Wirtz seemed like a pipedream for Liverpool even a few weeks back when it seemed certain that Bayern Munich are set to win the race to sign him this summer.

Manchester City were also interested as Pep Guardiola wanted him as Kevin De Bruyne’s successor, but they backed out of the race due to the potential cost of the deal and the player’s willingness to wait more before deciding.

Bayer Munich have been projecting confidence that they will sign Wirtz, but it has been claimed that the talks with Liverpool have had more of an impact on the player and his family.

Liverpool are leading the race to sign Florian Wirtz

Liverpool seemed like the dark horses in the race to sign Wirtz when it emerged Richard Hughes spoke with him and his family in England last week.

However, the speculation gained traction after it emerged that FSG are set to give their approval to a massive £126m offer for the German playmaker.

But it is now clear Liverpool are in the driver’s seat, as according to Bayern Space, the Bavarians have internally accepted that Wirtz won’t be joining them this summer.

They have a contractual agreement with him, but it is not exclusive, and the club’s PR move has backfired.

Wirtz and his family were left highly impressed with Liverpool’s presentation and the tactical details they provided on how Arne Slot will use him.

However, Vincent Kompany’s plan didn’t really make an impression, and there is a feeling that the Bayern Munich coach is unsure of how to use the player.

Wirtz’s camp are now inclined to take him to Liverpool, and the deal will now depend on the club agreeing on a fee with Leverkusen.
