“Fighting or”: Liverpool star jokes with Pep Lijnders about fights with £67M genius

Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool’s Pep Lijnders was seen joking with star man Mohamed Salah in a new video helping to promote his book ‘Intensity’.

The book is a collection of all thoughts, experiences, stories and almost a re-telling of Lijnders’ experiences at Liverpool over the years.

The video from the official Liverpool YouTube channel shows the coach gifting players a book each whilst Pep also pays them a compliment in what is a wholesome team moment.

Salah has been Liverpool’s star man since joining and, this weekend, he’ll be hoping to be the first player in PL history to score in six consecutive opening day fixtures.

Salah jokes about fighting with Trent

“There’s a lot of things in here about me and Trent? Fighting or?” Salah exclaimed when receiving the book. Lijnders pointed to the chapters proclaiming “Mo and Trent’s universe!”

As captain Jordan Henderson walked past, Lijnders exclaimed: “If you look back all the movements and all the goals you see Henderson creating space for you guys!”

When meeting with Harvey Elliot in the video, he told the 19-year-old “There isn’t many with a better-left foot than Mo Salah! Just don’t tell him I said that!”

The video shows how tight-knit a group this Liverpool team are; it’s certainly a major factor in their success.

Trent and Salah’s relationship

Liverpool’s right-hand side of their team is rather special given Salah and Alexander-Arnold occupy that area.

The bond and connection that these two have built up over the years has been truly brilliant to watch. It’s the key to most of their attacks and they’re incredibly hard to stop.

Take Salah’s opening goal against Chelsea below; Trent’s ball cuts out Antonio Rudiger leaving the Egyptian one-on-one before leaving Marcos Alonso for dead before finishing expertly – a classic example of their relationship.

Trent has attracted attention from Barcelona of all places – with the Spanish giants desperate for an (another) marquee signing.

Worth £72m, he stands as the joint sixth highest valued U23 player in the world and as an elite creator.

Transforming the right-back position, last season he finished as the highest chance creator in the league with 90 – beating Bruno Fernandes, Kevin De Bruyne and Martin Odegaard – he is truly one of a kind.
