“Far apart” – Worrying Mo Salah contract update

Liverpool are eyeing Mohamed Salah replacement

The Mohamed Salah contract situation has been taking fresh twists and turns as we approach a critical period. The player has prioritised staying at Anfield over other options but wants the Reds to do their bit by offering him a three-year deal on top wages.

Salah is the fifth-highest goalscorer in the club’s history and is only expected to continue to climb up the charts if he continues at Anfield beyond the end of the ongoing season.

However, the contract wrangle involving him and the club has continued for months and while he wants to stay, there is still no agreement over a new deal between his representatives and Liverpool.

The Reds want to hold on to him but are wary of offering an ageing player a long and expensive contract and getting trapped into a vicious cycle if he experiences a sudden decline in his performances.

Salah wants a three-year contract and is keen to see Liverpool treat his achievements at the club with a certain amount of respect given his contribution to their success.

No agreement yet on the Salah contract saga

According to Sky Deutschland, negotiations are still ongoing between Salah’s representatives and Liverpool over a new deal.

However, these talks have been dragging on for months and there is still no sign of an agreement between the Reds and Salah’s camp.

In fact, it has been claimed that the two sides are still some distance away from reaching an agreement over a new contract for the player.

Both parties remain far apart and it doesn’t seem there will be an agreement on the horizon for Salah to sign a new contract with Liverpool anytime soon.

Can you name the club Liverpool sold these players to?

Salah wants to stay at Anfield but he won’t be short of offers if Liverpool fail to secure him on a new contract.

Barcelona have their eyes on him and there other top clubs in Europe and Saudi Arabia who are prepared to move for him in the summer transfer window.

Signing a player of Salah’s quality on a free transfer at the end of the season is likely to bring more clubs out of the shadows for him.
