Liverpool seem to have discovered yet another young gem in 17-year-old Stefan Bajcetic after his mature and dominant display against RB Leipzig.
The Reds ran riot in Austria, putting five past Domenico Tedesco’s Leipzig outfit with no reply as Jurgen Klopp stepped his pre-season programme up a notch.
Darwin Nunez vanquished his pre-season demons not just with a hattrick but a set of four goals to strike fear into the hearts of the sorry Premier League defenders that must now deal with him for the next six years.
It was an overall masterful display from Liverpool and bar one mistake from Ibrahima Konate, Christopher Nkunku and co. hardly bothered Adrian or Harvey Davies in goal.
Stefan Bajcetic, by the way.
Looks a talent.

However, despite all the excitement surrounding Nunez and Fabio Carvalho, Liverpool fans have been wowed by 17-year-old Stefan Bajcetic and are convinced that the midfielder will be a starter one day for the club.
It’s still pre-season and so I do caution a measure of composure but whenever a 17-year-old outclasses players in their 20s – even in a friendly – you must take notice.
Even if the teenager had not dispossessed Amadou Haidara and set Liverpool up for their fourth goal of the game, Bajcetic would still be on everyone’s lips.

His very first touch of the game came under extremely high pressure but the 17-year-old received the ball and took a tight touch before working it out wide to James Milner.
It was an immediate sign that this kid is a serious baller.
He won’t get very many minutes for the Liverpool first team this season but if he does, I’ll be watching closely.
In the last two years, Liverpool have slowly been moving towards a midfield setup that features more technically gifted players.
While Jordan Henderson will be a key component of Jurgen Klopp’s side until he retires, players like Naby Keita, Thiago and Fabio Carvalho are the future of the Liverpool midfield.
