Liverpool have big decisions ahead of them in the upcoming transfer window.
The reds insisted that they were happy with their squad after the January window closed. Liverpool failed to add a new face to the squad. And over the past few weeks it has become more clear that reinforcements were needed. The reds have done well to come so far into this season relying on their starters.
However, recent results have shown they made need more players if they want Arne Slot to thrive. The Dutch coach rotated in two of their last four games and have paid the price. Liverpool lost in their last game of the Champions League group phase against PSV. The reds were also knocked out of the FA Cup against Plymouth on Sunday.

European club offer €60M for Liverpool star
Liverpool’s problems this season have been with the squad depth. Especially in attacking positions. It has become quite clear that the only reason the team are effective is because of Mohamed Salah. Cody Gakpo has also had a decent season, but has not matched Salah’s output.
Outside the duo, the rest of the team have been disappointing, especially up top. Darwin Nunez has been out of favour with Arne Slot and has even been benched for Diogo Jota. Luis Diaz and Federico Chiesa have also been disappointing at times. The goals from the attack seem to dry up when Salah is off the field.
Liverpool have been offered a lifeline, as AC Milan prepare a €60million bid for Darwin Nunez. The 7x Champions League winners are in the market for a new striker and Nunez fits the bill. This could mean the reds will lose at least two attackers in the summer. Diogo Jota has also been subject to interest from Arsenal.
Should reds part ways with Nunez?
After close to three years at the club, it may finally be time for Liverpool to cut their losses. The move for Darwin Nunez has just not worked out. He has yet to justify his huge price tag during his time at Anfield. And from this season, it has been made clear that Arne Slot is not a big fan of the Uruguayan.
There has already been interest in Nunez from Saudi, but Liverpool blocked a move last month. If other clubs in Europe are able to offer big money, the reds should accept the bids. The 25-year old does not look like he’s going to turn his career around any time soon.
Liverpool will benefit from his sale, as it would bring enough money to re-invest in a long-term option in the striking role.
