England star snubs rivals to seal shock £40m Liverpool switch

Liverpool look set to pull off one of the most dramatic moves of the transfer window, sealing a shock £40m deal for a top England international. In a twist that has stunned rival clubs, the player is believed to have turned down offers from several Premier League giants to join Arne Slot’s project at Anfield. With personal terms now close to being finalised, this move could reshape the club’s summer strategy — and deliver a huge statement of intent.

The Merseyside giants have shown ambition and intent with the arrivals of Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz for a combined fee of £146m this summer.

They are also close to finalising Milos Kerkez’s incoming transfer from Bournemouth for a deal worth £40m plus add-ons, and are keen to bring in more players in the coming weeks.

Liverpool have several other priorities to sort out, and the club are taking steps towards signing a top England star in a shock transfer from a fellow Premier League club this summer.

Liverpool set to sign England star in a huge transfer

According to TEAMTalk, Liverpool are set to accelerate their efforts to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi in the ongoing transfer window.

The Merseyside giants have been in talks with his representatives to take him to Anfield for months, and the defender would prefer a move to England.

His agents have already thrashed out personal terms on a contract with the club and are continuing to hold talks to facilitate the transfer.

Guehi has turned down a move to Tottenham and would prefer to join Liverpool over Newcastle United, despite the latter chasing him since last season.

Liverpool are set to step up their interest in the defender seen, and will soon start negotiations with Crystal Palace, who are expected to sell him for a fee of more than £40m.
