Liverpool are now planning for their future this summer.
The club recently learned of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s decision. The Liverpool star has chosen to bring his career at Anfield to an end. Trent is set to sign a five-year deal with Champions League holders Real Madrid. This means Liverpool have lost one of the players they are currently in contract talks with.
Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk are also yet to commit to new long-term deals. But there is optimism that the duo could stay at Anfield. The latest reports indicate that Liverpool are growing confident that Van Dijk stays this summer, while Mohamed Salah has turned down a move to Saudi Arabia.

Liverpool plans for next season revealed

Liverpool have already outlined some plans heading into the summer market. A new defender and a striker seem to be the priority on the club’s list. With the imminent departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold, many think the reds will try and sign a new right back.
According to Fabrizio Romano, these suggestions seem far off the mark. The latest update is that it looks like Liverpool will put their trust in Conor Bradley heading into next season. There is every chance that the 21-year old starts next year as the first choice right back.
“In terms of right-back, what I’m hearing is that they are very happy with Conor Bradley. They believe that Conor Bradley can be part of this future Liverpool squad. They believe he’s a huge talent.
“The responsibility of being the starting right-back at Liverpool is going to be completely different, but they feel this boy has everything in place in order to become an important player for Arne Slot.”
Not signing a new right back is a bad decision
If Liverpool choose not to sign a new right back, it leaves Conor Bradley and Jarrel Quansah as the two options next season. As seen in the League Cup final, Quansah is far from ready to be a deputy in that position. He is a very good center back at his age, but will need a lot of education on how to play on the right.
Conor Bradley has shown he has all the tools to be a starter in the team, but it will not be enough for Liverpool. It will be hard to replicate the kind of production Trent Alexander-Arnold has given the club. Bradley has a lot to develop to add to the attacking side of his game to justify being Trent’s replacement in this system.
