Liverpool are in the middle of a huge transfer window, but a top star is ready to quit the club after showdown talks behind the scenes. The Reds are now expected to lose a cult hero, with several clubs interested in signing him in the ongoing transfer window.
The Merseyside giants have made some bold moves in the transfer window to bolster their squad that won the Premier League on a canter in the 2024/25 season.
Their pursuit of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen shows Liverpool mean business and are serious about competing on multiple fronts in the next campaign.
However, Liverpool also need player sales, and a cult hero has taken a major decision on his future following showdown talks with the club hierarchy this summer.

Federico Chiesa wants to leave after showdown talks

Federico Chiesa earned a league winners’ medal and looked delighted to lift the Premier League trophy at the end of last season.
However, he played just one Premier League game for the start, and the club are ready to move him on after just a year at Anfield.
The Italy winger has remained non-committal on leaving Anfield in public, but according to Football Italia, Chiesa has made the final decision.
The winger believes his time is up at Liverpool, and he has to move on after spending just one season on Merseyside.
Napoli have already held talks with the player, with Antonio Conte keen to add him to his league-winning squad ahead of next season.
AC Milan have also reached a verbal agreement with his agents, and Real Betis have identified him as an alternative to Manchester United’s Antony.
Chiesa is under no illusion and knows he needs to move on from Liverpool if he wants to play regular football next season.
