Liverpool face Galatasaray today as the Merseyside outfit will be looking forward to bouncing back from their defeat against Crystal Palace.
Arne Slot’s men faced Palace for the second time this season, and another defeat followed after their previous one. The Reds have lost only twice this season, and both defeats have been against the Eagles.
First, Liverpool travelled to London for the FA Community Shield. Unfortunately, Oliver Glasner’s men made sure that the shield remained in the capital, with the game ending 2-2 and Palace winning on penalties.
Then, in the English Premier League, the Glaziers gave the Reds a taste of their own medicine by scoring a late injury-time winner.
Against Galatasaray, Liverpool will be without Italian winger Federico Chiesa, who has been detrimental as a super sub this season. He suffered a niggle against Palace and will sit this one out.
Giovanni Leoni, on the other hand, has had more than a niggle against Southampton. The Italian defender made his debut for the club in the Carabao Cup clash, but ended it by injuring his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), which sidelines him for a year.
Chelsea injury concerns rise

After the game against Galatasaray, the Reds will hopefully have Federico Chiesa available. The Merseysiders have only two long-term injury problems in Giovanni Leoni and Jayden Danns.
Chelsea, on the other hand, don’t have the same luxury as they are already missing eight players. Three more might be added to the equation as Enzo Maresca talked about Joao Pedro, Andrey Santos and Moises Caicedo before their UEFA Champions League clash against Benfica.
The eight already out are Cole Palmer (groin), Mykhailo Mudryk (suspension), Trevoh Chalobah (suspension), Levi Colwill (ACL), Liam Delap (thigh), Tosin Adarabioyo (calf), Wesley Fofana (concussion) and Dario Essugo (thigh).

Focusing on Moises Caicedo, Joao Pedro and Andrey Santos, Maresca claimed that they have enough to replace the injuries despite the crisis.
“They are all players, unfortunately for us, with some small problems. So, we will see tomorrow if they are going to be available. For sure, in this moment, we have injuries, but I think we have enough in the squad to replace the injuries that we have.”
The Italian manager has a big situation on his hands if a significant number of them don’t return before Liverpool’s trip to Stamford Bridge.
