The Liverpool international stars are currently out on national team duty at the moment and regardless of how their teams are doing, the players are grabbing headlines.
Arne Slot will start welcoming his international starts back into his Liverpool squad in the coming weeks as he looks to prepare his team for their game against Chelsea next weekend.
Liverpool lost to Nottingham Forest immediately after the last international break in September and the Reds will be desperate to avoid such a result at Anfield on Sunday.
Their England stars will soon be back on Merseyside as they are free to leave the camp following their 3-1 win over Finland on Sunday.
Trent Alexander-Arnold scored a sumptuous free-kick for the Three Lions but the right-back has failed to escape criticism despite his goal.
Can’t believe how bad the Liverpool star is defensively – Roy Keane
Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane was not impressed with what he saw of Alexander-Arnold from the defensive point of view.
He did acknowledge the quality of the free-kick and conceded that the Finnish goalkeeper could have done nothing to stop it from going in.
However, he insisted that Alexander-Arnold remains a defensive liability and better teams will continue to expose that weakness in his game no matter how good he is on the ball.
“Great technique, you can see his standing foot, technique is fantastic”, Keane said on ITV.
“No chance for the goalkeeper. I’m usually harsh on goalkeepers but I’ll go easy on that one.
“If you saw him the other night defending [against Greece], it looked like he’d never played right-back before!”
Liverpool have managed ways to make sure that Alexander-Arnold doesn’t get defensively exposed while exploiting his ability on the ball.
