Liverpool are expected to confirm Van Dijk’s new contract soon, and the Dutchman has provided a hint of what to expect over the summer transfer window.
The Reds captain was presumably given assurances about the club’s ambition going forward during the negotiations, and Van Dijk is expecting a ‘big summer’ at Anfield.
He remains certain Liverpool will remain contenders for major trophies in the coming years and insisted that the club are planning a big window.
“I think Liverpool should be able to challenge for titles in the upcoming years”, Van Dijk told reporters.
“Whatever happens in terms of players going out, players coming in, I think it should be a big summer. I think they’re planning to make it a big summer, so we all have to trust the board as Liverpool-connected fans to do the right job.”
