Sadio Mane has reached a verbal agreement with Bayern Munich over personal terms with the Germans set to submit a new bid, according to Fabrizio Romano.
After AFCON, Mane was simply outstanding and helped carry his teammates to two domestic cup wins, the Champions League final and within touching distance of winning the Premier League.
After the 2021/22 season, he has officially won everything there is to win at Liverpool and is understandably looking for a new challenge.
Yet, despite Mane wanting to leave, Liverpool are “standing firm” on their demands for the 30-year-old.
Mane is two weeks away from entering the final year of his contract at Anfield but Liverpool would rather let him leave for free next summer than accept a lower fee this year.
He might be getting older but Mane is still an elite performer and keeping him would ensure Liverpool have the best attacking depth in the world.
According to Graeme Bailey, if Bayern Munich do not match the asking price set by Liverpool for Sadio Mane then the Reds will “welcome him back” alongside Darwin Nunez.
Liverpool completed the signing of the Uruguayan on Tuesday for a reported fee worth around €100million and he is expected to lead the line next season.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Mane has reached a “full verbal agreement with Bayern on personal terms”.

For Mane’s sake, I hope Bayern increase their offer as he has made it clear he wants to leave and while Liverpool are hardly a second-rate option, he deserves the opportunity to pursue a new challenge.
Sadio has given his all to Liverpool for 6 years and without him, Jurgen Klopp’s work transforming the club may have been delayed.
The former Southampton star truly kicked off the new era under Klopp and alongside Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino, one of the most fun attacking trios was born.
Liverpool want £42million to let Mane leave.
According to Bild, Bayern have given the green light for their next bid for Mane and are expected to offer £35million as a package deal.
Their offer should, per the German outlet, be compromised of an initial €35m upfront and then a further €5m in various add-ons which will still fall short of the £42m Liverpool are demanding.
After they previously offered £23.5m up front with £6.5m in add-ons, it would be totally understandable if Liverpool reject their new offer outright as well.
Bayern are trying to proactively replace Robert Lewandowski as the Polish forward wants to join Barcelona but they will need to do better with their bids for Mane if he’s to move to the Allianz Arena this summer.
