“Liverpool is calling”: Signing £59mil star is “one of the biggest priorities” for Reds- marquee Anfield move beckons

Aurelien Tchouameni

Aurelien Tchouameni has been made a priority signing by Liverpool, according to Sacha Tavolieri, while Real Madrid are NOT in the race.

The Reds could follow the transfer blueprint which saw them sign Fabinho for £43.7million in 2019. The Brazilian arrived after the heartbreaking Champions League defeat to Real Madrid in Kiev.

Liverpool will be hoping to avoid that element of the parallels between these two transfers. Yet, if the transfer gurus behind the scenes are able to sign Tchouameni, there is the feeling that he can have a similarly transformative effect on Jurgen Klopp’s team.

Aurelien Tchouameni

That’s how good he is. Between Fabinho and Thiago, Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita, the Reds have some very impressive midfield options and adding Tchouameni to the mix could be one of the only ways to take this team to the next level.

That’s before you consider the promising talents in Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott while Fabio Carvalho will be added to the mix this summer too.

The Frenchman would likely follow the same pathway to the first team that Ibrahima Konate has. Liverpool’s team is a very difficult one to break into and even the former RB Leipzig star has had to sit on the bench at times.

Now, however, with the Champions League final in Paris, his hometown, the 22-year-old seems destined to start alongside the best centre-back in the world in Virgil van Dijk. It must feel like a dream come true.

Ibrahima Konate

Should Liverpool sign Tchouameni – as seems likely with the groundswell of reports pointing towards the Reds as being the favourites – Konate would be crucial in helping his compatriot settle in at Anfield.

According to recent reports, Liverpool are favourites to sign the midfielder, valued at €70million (£59m), and have held talks with his agents over a move to Merseyside, as per the well-respected Fabrizio Romano.

Sports Illustrated’s LFC Transfer Room conducted an exclusive interview with Sacha Tavolieri, a Ligue 1 expert, who states that signing Tchouameni is one of the most important agendas for Liverpool.

He told them: “Aurélien is one of the biggest priorities of the scouting staff of Liverpool”.

Tavolieri also tweeted: “Liverpool is calling” which suggests that a move to sign him is drawing ever closer.

Furthermore, it appears that Real Madrid, the Anfield outfit’s biggest competitor for his signature, are out of the race which only strengthen’s the potential for the French powerhouse to move to Liverpool.

This update comes from Fabrice Hawkins, who states that unless Carlo Ancelotti oversees a major sale, they will be unable to afford his price tag with Kylian Mbappe expected to cost them huge sums despite being set to arrive as a free agent.

Tchouameni arriving without any departures would give Klopp ludicrous squad depth in addition to the German’s quality of options in attack and at centre-back and left-back.

The Reds still need to sign a natural right-back cover for Trent Alexander-Arnold which could arrive in the form of Aberdeen’s Calvin Ramsay, who has been linked with a move to Anfield.
