Aston Villa set to snatch Liverpool hero in £30m shock

Liverpool do expect to sell players this summer, apart from their plans of significantly improving the title-winning squad in the upcoming transfer window. If things go according to plan in the coming weeks, one of the title heroes will close in on a move to Aston Villa.

Arne Slot will not shy away from major surgery on his squad as he is of the firm belief that he needs better options to compete for multiple trophies next season.

Liverpool are about to get their summer shopping spree underway through the impending arrival of Jeremie Frimpong, and they want to compete for the signing of Florian Wirtz as well.

However, as many as ten players could be shown the door this summer, and one of those stars could end up in the Midlands in the upcoming transfer window.

Can you name these 10 Liverpool players from the 2000s?

A title hero could solve a major issue for Aston Villa this summer

Caoimhin Kelleher has a year left on his contract at Liverpool, and he is keen to move on from Anfield this summer in search of regular football.

Leeds United want to sign him and will offer a blockbuster double deal to sign Kelleher and Kostas Tsimikas from Liverpool.

However, according to the Sun, Aston Villa want Kelleher to replace Emiliano Martinez in goal next season.

Martinez is expected to move on from Villa Park this summer, and Unai Emery has identified the Liverpool goalkeeper as his ideal replacement.

The Villa boss wants someone with Premier League and European experience, and Kelleher fits the bill perfectly.

Liverpool are prepared to sell him and are expected to ask for a fee in the region of £30m in the upcoming transfer window.

Kelleher would be open to a move to the Midlands club as long as they agree on a fee with the Reds.
