Liverpool are in the final stages of contract talks with Alisson and will finalise his new personal terms in the next weeks, according to Fabrizio Romano.
We are so lucky to have a goalkeeper as talented and humble as the Brazilian is and after his goalscoring heroics, his new contract is more than deserved.
After the tragic year Alisson and his family had, it’s amazing to see him rewarded for his excellence in goal.
New contract close to completion
The former AS Roma goalkeeper is on vacation after Brazil missed out on winning the Copa America as Lionel Messi guided Argentina to the South American title.
Fabrizio Romano reported via Twitter: “Liverpool are set to complete the agreement with Alisson to extend his contract until June 2026. The agreement is at final stages.
“Final details and clauses expected to be fixed in the next weeks, then Alisson will sign his contract extension with LFC.”
Anfield Central has been told by a source close to the club’s media team that the finishing touches to the new and improved personal terms will be done when he returns from his holiday.
Liverpool yet to see best of Alisson
At just 28 years of age, the Brazilian is still relatively young for a goalkeeper and is set to enter his golden years.
With Liverpool set to extend the contracts of Fabinho, Virgil van Dijk, Alisson and talks starting with Salah, it’s clear that the club is making sure they keep their spine intact while strengthening around it.
The transfer window tends to make us forget just how good the players already at the club are and given that Liverpool’s best players used to routinely leave every summer, extending their contracts should be celebrated more.
Under Jurgen Klopp, the Anfield outfit has moved on from being a selling club content with scrapping for top four to one of the best teams in Europe fighting for the biggest trophies available.
Liverpool signed Alisson for £66m in 2018 and his fee has hardly been mentioned since which underlines how good he has been for the Reds.
