Liverpool could have a player handed to them in the next few months.
The reds have plans to revamp their squad ahead of next season. Arne Slot has done a great job with the current squad as it stands. His new possession-based style has brought the best out of some players at the club. Ryan Gravenberch has benefitted the most, with the midfielder having an excellent campaign.
Slot reportedly wants new additions in the attack ahead of next season. Liverpool have shown that the current crop of attackers outside Mohamed Salah cannot be relied upon. Diogo Jota’s injury problems continue to frustrate the team, and Luis Diaz has been inconsistent for most of the campaign. Darwin Nunez has been out of favour this season, and is set for a move with Liverpool looking for a new striker.

Alexander Isak could force move to Liverpool

Newcastle United star Alexander Isak is the headline target for the reds this summer. It has been reported this week that Liverpool are in contact with his representatives. Isak has made it clear that he wants Champions League football next season. The Magpies are still in the race to qualify for the competition with 11 games to go.
Newcastle’s chief executive Darren Eales says his team are not under pressure to sell any of their best players this summer:
“He [Isak] has multi years left [on his Newcastle contract] so as with all of these things, we will have the discussions in terms of a new deal just like we did with Joelinton, Bruno [Guimaraes], or Anthony Gordon. That’s something that we will approach in the summer,” Eales added.
“We’re striving, as a club, to be at the top table. We want our best players here.
“I think it shows the value of Isak that they talk about him all the time. We’re not looking to move any player on.”
The Magpies will be reluctant to sell Isak this summer, but a record £150million fee may force their hand. Liverpool are reportedly eager to sign the 25-year old this summer.
Reds have the upper hand
All signs point to Liverpool having the upper hand when it comes to Alexander Isak. The player wants a move, and wants Champions League football. Newcastle sit in sixth place, four points off the top four. With their upcoming run of games, it looks very unlikely they beat their rivals to Champions League qualification.
Liverpool have laid out their plans for a new striker. The reds have already made contact and are eager to sign the 25-year old.
