A new claim suggests that Luis Diaz and his agents are pushing for fresh contract talks with Liverpool after the Colombian’s brilliant start to the season culminated with a brace against Manchester United on Sunday.
Mohamed Salah has also made a brilliant start but with the Egyptian, that’s par for the course. Diaz has always excited Liverpool fans but he hasn’t delivered with goals and assists with the consistency that Salah has.
However, Diaz has three goals and an assist in his first three appearances of the season and seems to be one constantly upping the ante in attack for the Reds.
Now, it’s being reported he’s happy at Liverpool and wants to put pen to paper on a new contract after 2024 was dominated by rumours of a move to Barcelona.

Liverpool fans will be delighted to read that TBR Football claim that Luis Diaz is now pushing for a new contract. They claim that his agents are “pressing for talks” over a deal that would see him rise up and become one of the highest-paid players at Anfield.
According to Capology, the Colombian currently earns £55,000 without any performance-related bonuses. It stands to reason he will want closer to or over £100,000/week on a hypothetical contract extension.
Diaz is easily worth the six-figure raise but he will likely have to continue with vein of form he’s in for most of the season to receive the increase.
Last season, the 27-year-old scored 13 goals and five assists but is fully capable of getting into double figures for both goals and assists.
He is very much a double threat already but if he can find consistency with his goal output, the club will likely see it as more cost effective to extend his deal then sell and replace.
