His agents have been holding talks with several clubs across Europe, and it has been claimed that Inter Milan have tabled a contract offer to the forward.

An agreement between the two sides is close, but according to TEAMTalk, Liverpool have muscled into the race to sign the forward this summer.

David has been linked with a move to Anfield on a free transfer, but the Reds are now making a concrete effort to convince him to move to Merseyside this summer.

They believe this is too good an opportunity to pass on as David is a proven goalscorer in Europe, and is available on a free transfer this summer.

The Reds feel they can convince him to ignore the offer from Inter Milan and move to Anfield this summer.
