Liverpool secured their 20th top-flight title on Sunday, but work is underway behind the scenes to ensure the club do not stand still. The Reds want to show ambition in the market, and are now set to beat hated rivals Manchester United to the signature of a top Premier League star.
Arne Slot is keen to revamp the squad over the summer and is particularly interested in making the Reds more threatening in attack in the 2025/26 season.
The Liverpool manager wants to end the team’s overdependence on Mo Salah for goals and creativity, and is keen to have a set of younger forwards around the Egyptian.
He is also pushing to bring in an attacking midfielder to add more creativity to the team, and the club are now being tipped to beat Manchester United to a player’s signature.

Former Manchester United scout Mick Brown revealed that Eberechi Eze is keen on a move to Old Trafford, but believes they are not the right club for his development.
He feels a move to Liverpool would suit the attacking midfielder more as he would be surrounded by better players at Anfield. He would not feel isolated in a squad teeming with talent, who have the experience of handling adversities better than the current lot at Manchester United.
“Is he what Man United need? Are they good enough to get the best out of him? I don’t think so”, Brown told Football Insider.
“From what I hear, he’s not going to be interested in a move to United.
“He’ll be looking at the evidence of players who have gone before him, he doesn’t want to become another example of what United can do to players.
“A move to Liverpool or Arsenal, who have been interested, would be much better for him.
“If you get good enough players around him, they will provide him with opportunities to do what he’s best at, and that’s being decisive in the final third.
“At a team like Liverpool, they have those players and they can afford to take the rough with the smooth in terms of what they get from him.
“Man United haven’t got that, so he would be an oasis in a desert at Old Trafford.“
