Liverpool will need to address two major areas of the squad this summer.
The defence is a high priority position, as the reds could lose up to three starters at the end of the season. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk are out of contract soon, and could leave on free transfers. When it comes to Ibrahima Konate, the uncertainty continues around his future. The French defender is yet to sign a new deal, which could force the club to sell him this summer.
Liverpool’s attack will also be in focus when the summer window comes around. This season, outside Mohamed Salah, the overall production from the other options has been underwhelming. Arne Slot has done everything possible to make the attack work, but the players keep letting him down. It has been rumoured that Liverpool will move on from a few players. Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz are the names frequently linked with a move away from Anfield.
The biggest loss for the reds this summer could be Mohamed Salah, who is yet to sign a new deal with months left on his contract.

Liverpool might not sign a midfielder this summer
Heading into the summer window, the club has been linked with a few midfielders in the last few months. Frenkie de Jong, Joao Gomes and Hugo Larsson are all rumoured to be Liverpool targets. There is belief that the club will also strengthen the middle of the park ahead of next season.
However, this notion has been sort of disproved this week. David Ornstein has reported that Liverpool are satisfied with their current set of midfielders. The report claims that midfield is ”not a priority” this summer:
“This doesn’t seem to be a department at the top of their priority list, and – if that’s the case – you can understand why. Zubimendi was viewed as a market opportunity and when LFC’s pursuit didn’t come to fruition they decided against pivoting to another target; it was he who they wanted. That call appears to have been vindicated with Gravenberch’s outstanding season, Endo’s contributions, Mac Allister consistency and Jones shining when called upon.” Ornstein wrote in his Athletic Q&A column.
