Liverpool are closing in on a key target.
The revamp has started behind the scenes at Anfield. Liverpool are setting up to splash the cash this summer after a quiet year. Federico Chiesa was one of two permanent additions to the first team last summer. Arne Slot has had time to run the rule over the current players and knows what to look for ahead of next season.
Liverpool’s squad has been a major weakness for Slot this season, outside the starting eleven, none of the players have really stepped up this campaign. It really showed in the last two games against Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle. When the reds needed someone to step up when Mohamed Salah was marked out of the game, the only player that showed something was Federico Chiesa. The Italian has barely featured this season and had more impact than the likes of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz.

Liverpool target set for meeting this week

After the news this week that Trent Alexander-Arnold has agreed to move to Real Madrid, things are moving behind the scenes. Liverpool have accelerated talks with Van Dijk and Salah, with the hope that they can keep the duo. A lot of signs point to Salah staying, after news that he turned down a move to Saudi Arabia this week.
Liverpool have been handed a huge boost this week. According to TEAMtalk, Bournemouth are set to hold talks this week with key players ahead of the summer. Milos Kerkez and Antoine Semenyo have been linked with Liverpool over the last few months, but the club is yet to make contact.
Kerkez has been touted to move to a big club at the end of the season, with his agent even making a huge claim some months ago:
“I think he’s ready to go to a higher level club [than Bournemouth],”
“If he wants to go to Liverpool, he will go to Liverpool.
“I mean he has everything. I think he can’t be in the top five left-backs around the world if he plays at a smaller club.
“So it depends on his next transfer. How many minutes will he play there and how well will he play there?”
The 21-year old has two goals and five assists in the league this season, and is rumoured to have a £40million price tag.
