Former Liverpool star could return to England

Liverpool continue to top the Premier League after 25 games played. The reds have put together a string of hard fought results in the last few weeks. Arne Slot’s side were held midweek in their draw against Everton. The game ended in controversy as James Tarkowski scored a late equalizer. Liverpool felt that Ibrahima Konate was fouled in the build up to the goal. The FA released a statement on the incidents after the match. Curtis Jones, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Arne Slot were all sent off after the final whistle.
Arsenal are currently second in the league, seven point behind leaders Liverpool. The gunners suffered a huge blow to their title aspirations when they lost Kai Havertz to injury. The German striker is out for the rest of the season with a torn hamstring.
“He was going to stop a shot after a set-piece, then he stretched the leg and felt his hamstring,” said Arteta.
“Certainly it is a big blow because of the injuries that we have but fortunately, we’ve been through a lot this season.
When asked if Arsenal would dip into the free agent market, Arteta replied:
“We’ll explore every possible situation and make a decision from there,”

A report from RTI Esporte has revealed that Arsenal are looking at signing Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian is currently under contract with Al-Hilal. Firmino was left out of the squad for the rest of the Saudi Pro League season. The striker will only feature in AFC Champions League games till the end of the campaign.
The report claims Firmino is in talks with the club to terminate his contract. This would leave him free to join another club. Flamengo are interested in the 33-year old, but his preference is to return to Europe.
Roberto Firmino has 10 goals in all competitions this season.
