Liverpool have made some shrewd signings over the past few seasons.
Under Michael Edwards and Jurgen Klopp, the club signed some relatively unknown players. These players became stars at Anfield and helped Liverpool return to their glory days. Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane were each signed for small fees. They later became one of the best attacks in Europe, and lead Liverpool to Premier League and Champions League success.
The reds have tried to repeat the success over the last few windows. Ryan Gravenberch, Cody Gakpo and Alexis Mac Allister were among some of the major signings in the past few years. New head coach Arne Slot has brought the best out of these players, who looked all out of sorts last season.

Liverpool could sign former Everton star

Liverpool and Everton have one of the fiercest rivalries in English football. The last ever Merseyside derby at Goodison Park ended in a fiercely contested draw. James Tarkowski scored a late equalizer to share the points last week. The game ended with both sets of players getting into a scuffle after full time. Curtis Jones, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Arne Slot were all sent off after the game.
When it comes to transfers, over the past year Liverpool almost signed former Everton star Anthony Gordon. The Newcastle star almost joined the reds last year, but the deal broke down.
Team Talk has linked Liverpool with former Everton star Mohamed-Ali Cho. The 21-year old spent five years as an Everton youth player after joining from Paris Saint-Germain. In 2020, Cho left England on a free transfer and signed for Angers. He has gone on to play for Real Sociedad in La Liga, and moved back to France in 2024.
Liverpool see the youngster as a possible replacement for Mohamed Salah. Arne Slot has also made it clear that he wants attacking signings who can play across the front three.
Reds are returning to old methods
It is a positive thing that Liverpool are looking to return to recent transfer methods. Under Michael Edwards, the club got very good players for affordable fees. Looking at the current market, almost every decent player has a huge transfer tag. Mohamed-Ali Cho for £41million could be a steal. The French star is great on the ball and has shown that he could develop into a decent attacking player.
