9.2/10 – Brilliant Liverpool star dominated Manchester United with MOTM display

Mohamed Salah has started the 2024/25 season like a house on fire and Ma

nchester United have already become victims of his talent this season.

The Red Devils are, in fact, the team Salah has scored or assisted against the most since moving to Liverpool with the Egyptian contributing to a total of 21 goals. 15 goals and six assists in 16 games.

Even more impressively, no Liverpool player has ever managed as many goals against United and Salah has now scored in his last seven games at Old Trafford.

Truly remarkable for a player that arrived at Anfield in 2017 with the moniker ‘Chelsea Flop.’ Crazy how much changes in football over time.

MOTM display against Manchester United..again

Sofascore awarded Salah a 9.2/10 for his performance on Sunday. It’s a fair score. While there is always more a player can do – even Salah – he was nigh on perfect.

His key stats were:

  • 1 goal
  • 2 assists
  • 3 key passes
  • 3 big chances created
  • 53 touches
  • 50% dribble success rate
  • 76% pass accuracy

Based on those stats, there is likely very little Slot could fault.

Even the pass accuracy, while much lower than Liverpool’s 84% pass completion rate, is not a stat Salah or Slot will care much about. The 32-year-old is the player tasked with making risky actions the most.

A few misplaced passes or losing the ball during a dribble is the risk Liverpool take happily knowing they will likely win the ball back with haste.

The last season to watch Salah at Liverpool?

Liverpool may yet see Salah put pen to paper on a new deal but the forward says it’s out of his hands with a contract extension offer yet to be made to his agent Ramy Abbas.

After scoring and assisting against United, Salah told Sky Sports: “I had a good summer and had a long time to myself to try to stay positive.

“As you know, it’s my last year at the club.

“I just want to enjoy it and I don’t want to think about it. I feel like I’m free to play football and then we’ll see what happens next year.

“No-one at the club has spoken to me about contracts, so I’m just like: ‘OK, I’m playing my last season’ and see what happens at the end of the season.

“It’s not up to me, but nobody’s talked to me from the club. We will see.”
