Liverpool can theoretically double Youri Tielemans wages if he joined the club this summer after they did the same with Ibrahima Konate last month.
At the start of April, we exclusively broke the news that with Liverpool aiming to sign Konate by the end of the season, they had agreed on personal terms with him, doubling his RB Leipzig earnings.
In fact, we reported that Liverpool agreed to pay him around £70,000/week – a 118.75% increase on his wage at RB Leipzig.
With Youri Tielemans supposedly earning a similar amount to Konate, it stands to reason that if they sign him, they would be able to offer him double his earnings as well.
After Het Nieuwsblad reported that Liverpool have shortlisted Tielemans as an option to replace Gini Wijnaldum, Eurosport claim he is stalling on renewing his contract with Leicester City and this could be to see what offers are on the table this summer.
Not only can the Reds offer him double his money if Konate’s move to Liverpool is anything to go buy but they can also offer him the chance to play in the Champions League after the Foxes missed out on qualification again.
Jurgen Klopp’s side is also sure to be in the running to win the Premier League as injured players make their way back to fitness and the arrival of Konate helps sure what has been a tattered defensive lineup.
With Wijnaldum on the way out, Liverpool need to sign at least one more midfielder and that’s assuming there aren’t any more outgoings in that department.
Tielemans would be a fantastic addition and at just 24, he has several years ahead of him at the top year making him the ideal FSG signing.
