Anfield Central has been informed that if all goes to plan over the next few days, Virgil van Dijk will train at the Axa Training Facility in Kirkby for the first time next week.
The Dutchman hasn’t played for Liverpool since October 18, 2020 thanks to Jordan Pickford but with his ACL on the mend, the 29-year-old is closing in on a return to outdoor training.
Anfield Central reports that he could train at the new Kirkby facility as soon as Wednesday next week but there is still no timescale on how quickly he will return to full team training.
Liverpool will not rush their £75million man back especially given their poor luck with injuries this season.
