Liverpool sit at the summit of the Premier League table this season and are looking like real contenders to win the league. However, there are players in their squad who face an uncertain future and are yet to win the trust of manager Arne Slot.
Slot is happy with the depth of his Liverpool squad and is not expected to demand players from the board in the Janaury transfer window as things stand.
The Liverpool manager believes he will have even more options to work with as several players are set to return from injury and back into the team in the coming weeks.
However, not every player has won over Slot this season and some of them have a lot of work to do from now until the end of the season to save their future at Anfield.
Federico Chiesa is on that board despite just joining the club on the last day of the summer transfer window.
The Italian has played just 78 minutes of football and Slot has been annoyed with the fitness level of the player he has seen since his arrival.
Liverpool have swatted away talk of him leaving on loan in January despite interest from a few clubs in Italy but he has a lot to do to win over the manager and the fans.
However, an Italy legend has backed the winger to do exactly that in the coming months.

Marco Materazzi remains a fan of the Italy winger and has reminded everyone that he played a lot of games for a big club such as Juventus last season.
He admitted that joining Liverpool on the final day of the season coupled with the players already in the Reds team, it was always going tin be difficult for Chiesa initially.

However, he is certain that once the Italian receives a run of games in the team, he will go on to make a massive impact in the Liverpool shirt.
“I think Chiesa decided to join Liverpool on the last day of the transfer window and it wasn’t really easy”, Materazzi told LuckyBlock.com
“They have players like Mohamed Salah in the squad, who is a legend of the club, it’s not easy for Chiesa to get games when they’ve played so well.
“He played so many games last season and I think he’ll have to bide his time. I think when he comes into the team he can make a big impact.”
Chiesa has been struggling with his fitness and has not played since before the October international break.
