Tromso head coach Jorgen Vik has broken his silence on the future of midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl amid growing interest from Rangers.
Vik acknowledged that every player at the club can leave if the right offer is made, stopping well short of any commitment to keep his prized asset.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s league clash with Valerenga, he said: “In every club, players have their price.”
He added: “I’m very happy that they’re with us tomorrow, and I definitely plan to have them with us going forward. We’ll see.”
Rangers lodged a £5.3million bid for the 20-year-old earlier this week, but Tromso rejected the offer and are holding firm on a £7.5million asking price.
The Light Blues have been long-term admirers of Hjerto-Dahl, who reportedly turned down the chance to join Turkish giants Besiktas in January.
The young midfielder himself has done little to dampen transfer speculation, publicly admitting that a move to Ibrox is something he finds “tempting.”
Tromso’s Tobias Guddal is also attracting attention, with Ligue 1 side Toulouse, now managed by former Motherwell boss Jens Berthel Askou, registering interest in the player.
Vik insists both Hjerto-Dahl and Guddal remain part of his plans, but his carefully worded comments suggest the club would not stand in either player’s way at the right price.
Meanwhile, Rangers are also being linked with Australia international Cammy Devlin, who has departed Hearts after allowing his contract at Tynecastle to expire.
The World Cup star is now a free agent, with MLS clubs Seattle Sounders and Chicago Fire also said to be interested in securing his signature.
Derek McInnes has made four signings since taking over from Danny Rohl at Ibrox, with former Jambos captain Lawrence Shankland among those already through the door.
The pursuit of Hjerto-Dahl represents one of the more ambitious moves of the Rangers summer window, and whether the two clubs can bridge that valuation gap remains to be seen.
