The fans had mixed reactions when their golden boy, Trent Alexander-Arnold, decided to leave Liverpool after spending two decades at the Merseyside outfit.
There was no announcement of the club that he’ll be joining when the right-back posted a tweet on X (formerly Twitter). However, shortly after his goodbyes, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the defender will be joining Real Madrid.
“After 20 years at Liverpool Football Club, now is the time for me to confirm that I will be leaving at the end of the season. This is easily the hardest decision I’ve ever made in my life. I know many of you have wondered why or been frustrated that I haven’t spoken about this yet, but it was always my intention to keep my full focus on the team’s best interests, which was securing No.20”, Trent wrote on X (formerly Twitter)
Trent Alexander-Arnold Liverpool return

Despite the anticipation, Alexander-Arnold’s start at the Santiago Bernabeu has been a mixed bag. After suffering an injury in the FIFA Club World Cup, he returned at the start of the new La Liga season.
This was a big blow for both Real Madrid and the defender, as the club had paid a small transfer fee to get him on board a bit earlier for the tournament.
This was despite his contract expiring at the end of the season, as Los Blancos really wanted him to settle in earlier and play in the Club World Cup.
Unfortunately, the full-back suffered another injury against Marseille in the UEFA Champions League. Although initial reports had suggested that he’d miss the clash against Liverpool, the latest reports say that he’ll recover just in time to play again at Anfield.
“Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to return from injury in time for Real Madrid’s trip to Anfield in November. The right-back will be sidelined for matches against Kairat Almaty, Villarreal, Juventus and Barcelona”, reports TNT Sports.

Dani Carvajal injury
Despite still having to compete against Dani Carvajal, Alexander-Arnold will probably start following the former’s recent injury, which keeps the Spaniard out for a month.
Real Madrid will have a few tough matches to play before making the trip to Anfield. They host Juventus at home in the UEFA Champions League as they stand 13th in the rankings.
Then FC Barcelona will make a trip to the Santiago Bernabeu as both the clubs compete intensely in the Spanish La Liga.
