Liverpool are in the market for forwards and the club are tracking several options who could come in and improve the squad in the next summer transfer window.
Richard Hughes has been working on a shortlist of targets and the recruitment team are constantly looking at options who could add something different to the team.
Liverpool are looking at striker options but they are also looking at wide forwards due to the suggestion that Mohamed Salah could move on in the next summer transfer window.
The Merseyside giants are keeping tabs on several players and forwards such as Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres are some of the players the club are tracking.
However, the club have been incessantly linked with a move for Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush who has been in the form of his life this season.
Liverpool do not have a position for Marmoush – Germany legend
Marmoush is keen on a move to Liverpool as well and the prospect of replacing or succeeding his idol Salah in the Reds team appeals to him.
Liverpool have been in touch with his representatives and there are suggestions that he could be brought in to replace the Egypt and Reds legend.
Can you name the team Liverpool sold these players to?
However, Lothar Matthaus does not see Marmoush replacing Salah as he is not a right winger and is more of a second striker.
In fact, he doesn’t see where he could play if he joins Liverpool as Arne Slot’s team do not have a position for Marmoush and he would be better served if he moves to Inter Milan in the summer.
“In terms of position, no”, he told Sport Bild when asked if he could replace Salah.
“Marmoush is not a right winger, but a second, hanging striker next to a centre forward. Marmoush’s position does not exist at Liverpool, so the move makes no sense to me.
“Inter Milan with the 5-3-2 system would be a better fit for him.”
Given the level of interest Liverpool have in Marmoush, the club would definitely have a plan for him if they sign the forward in the summer transfer window.
