Rangers salvaged a 2-2 draw against Johor Darul Ta’zim in their final pre-season friendly of their Spanish training camp.
The result came thanks to a double from substitute Tochi Chukwuani, who turned the game around after the Malaysian side had established a two-goal lead.
Derek McInnes named only three of his new summer signings in the starting lineup, with the squad still building match sharpness ahead of the new season.
Lawrence Shankland captained the side, with Dan Neil operating in midfield and Ben Godfrey taking his place at the back.
Johor Darul Ta’zim, the reigning Malaysian league champions, dominated the opening exchanges and moved into a comfortable two-goal advantage early in the contest.
Chukwuani reduced the deficit after coming off the bench, giving Rangers a foothold back into the match at a critical moment.
The Danish midfielder then completed his brace within five minutes, driving home a strike from 30 yards to draw the sides level.
McInnes began to rotate his squad following the equaliser, with Shankland, Neil, and Findlay Curtis all making way for fresh legs.
Nedim Bajrami, Oliver Antman, and Bojan Miovski were among those introduced as the Rangers manager gave his wider group valuable minutes.
Rangers will now return home to continue their pre-season preparations, with Ibrox hosting St Etienne on July 22 and West Ham United four days later.
The Premiership campaign begins on July 31 with a trip to Tannadice to face Dundee United, before Hibernian visit Ibrox on August 9.
Both legs of the Europa League third qualifying round are also scheduled to fall around that same period, making for a demanding opening stretch for McInnes and his squad.
