Liverpool have not stood still since winning the Premier League and could be closing in on a third summer signing this week. The Reds have been working on several deals over the past few weeks, and one of them is set to come to fruition in the coming days.

It has already emerged that the Merseyside giants have a verbal agreement in place with Bayer Leverkusen for the signature of Florian Wirtz for a deal in excess of £126m.

Liverpool have already signed Jeremie Frimpong from the German club for a deal worth £30m, and he will be Trent Alexander-Arnold’s replacement at Anfield.

Liverpool to seal third summer signing this week

Liverpool have been working on a deal to sign Milos Kerkez for months, as they have been clear about wanting to sign a new left-back this summer.

Kerkez has agreed personal terms on a contract with Liverpool and has long given his final approval to a move to Anfield in the ongoing transfer window.

However, negotiations between Liverpool and Bournemouth have dragged on as the Cherries do not want to lower their £45m asking price.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that a final round of talks between Liverpool, Bournemouth and the player’s representatives will take place this week.

All sides are intent on getting a deal over the line, and the payment structure of the agreement is set to get finalised in the coming days.

The final deal is expected to be between the £40m and £45m as Kerkez waits patiently for the two teams to seal agreement for his transfer.
