Liverpool look set to challenge for the Premier League title once again and their Spanish midfielder could be key to beating Manchester City.
The Reds overcame City 3-1 over the weekend to win the Community Shield in an early season marker.
Pep Guardiola’s men fell short but remain title favourites having won four of the last five Premier League titles.
However, a performance from Thiago on Saturday was met with universal praise and proved Liverpool could win the title as long as the Spaniard stays fit all season.

Thiago is ‘silky’ according to star PL player
West Ham star Declan Rice waxes lyrical about Thiago, as he praised the Liverpool star via the Tubes & Ange Golf Life YouTube channel.
He praised the ‘silky’ midfielder for his technical ability and football IQ:
“Even when I played against Thiago at Liverpool, last season, he’s just so silky. He plays the game at his own pace, he was proper.” Rice revealed.
He wasn’t the only person to throw high praise Thiago’s way; former player Tony Cascarino gave him some of the highest praise of the former Bayern Munich star’s career.
“Thiago’s an amazing footballer. There are very few players who are so gifted.” The TalkSport pundit claimed.
“I would have him as probably the most gifted player I’ve seen in the Premier League – as in technique – he is extraordinary.”
🤩 “He’s maybe the most gifted player I’ve seen in the Premier League.”
🔥 “He’s up there with the very best. Technically, he’s got everything.”

How he helps win the title
The man who helped Bayern to a sextuple in his final year before joining Liverpool can help the Reds make that step to be champions once again.
For starters; he’s fully settled into this Liverpool side coming off the back of a really strong season and performance in the Community Shield; he managed 100% on long balls and on passes in the opposition’s half.
In his first season and some of his second, there were calls that he ‘didn’t suit’ Liverpool and was seen as a guy who slowed the game down too much for their style. He’s now fully up to speed and now able to dictate.
And people genuinely said Thiago wouldn’t suit Liverpool…https://t.co/Rj9xnCjyoD

An issue will be his availability, having missed 23 games total last season. Fans will hope he can stay fit because, without him, no one in this Liverpool squad can control a game like he can.
But the star looks in incredible shape and has even been spotted doing home workouts alongside his team training to ensure he’s fully ready to influence this Liverpool side all season.
If he does, you can expect to see performances similar to what we saw in the Community Shield as he dunked on City’s incredible midfield almost single-handedly – cue the Jamie Webster Thiago song…
