Jude Bellingham Liverpool

Liverpool’s star £103M target has shown his affliction for a Merseyside legend Steven Gerrard amidst rumours of a move.

The video in question sees Jude Bellingham partaking in a fun game for England’s YouTube channels with Chelsea’s Reece James where he favoured Steven Gerrard over Frank Lampard.

It has resurfaced from 11 months ago, but the short clip has done the rounds on social media in recent days and it has been enough to excite Liverpool fans over a potential move that is reported to be in the works for next summer.

Whatever the outcome of his future from move away from Borussia Dortmund, it’s clear to see Bellingham has respect for the Merseyside club.

In the video titled ‘Roommates‘ Bellingham and James have their friendship tested, as they answer all sorts of different questions about one another.

When James was asked to guess the 19-year-old’s preference on who’s shirt he could swap with out of Frank Lampard, Gerrard or Ashley Young – James chose Lampard for his teammate but Bellingham quickly responded with “Stevie G, bro!” and then went on to explain why.

“I think I would go Gerrard, though just because the No.8 [shirt], similar position to me, so yeah, I would probably go with him. I love Stevie G to be fair.”

Bellingham represented his country at the youth level playing the U15, U16, U17 and U21 teams and is currently on 15 caps and is yet to score his first Three Lions goal.

The video is from 11 months ago but it’s not the first time he’s chosen in favour of a Liverpool player during media work.

It’s not just past Liverpool players he admires but current ones too, as revealed when he was designing his FIFA team of 2022.

The Dortmund star was asked the age-old question of ‘Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo’ with one spot left in his starting eleven. Bellingham opted for the Argentinian out of the two options but didn’t award either his final spot in favour of Mohamed Salah.

“For this team I think it’s hard not to go with Salah,” he said.

“Messi will go into a lot of the teams because of what he’s done and obviously he was in a bit of a struggling Barca team and he was brilliant but I’ll probably have to go with Salah just because of how he’s started this season.”

Bellingham is a prized asset for Dortmund but he is expected to leave next summer with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid interested in his services.
