Liverpool continued their winning streak in the English Premier League by edging Burnley away from home at Turf Moor on Sunday.
It was a tough setup as the Clarets held their line against the Merseysiders till the final minutes of the game. Mohamed Salah proved saviour, though, as the Egyptian winger slotted one home with a penalty in the 95th minute.
Despite a strong start last season under new manager Arne Slot, the team remained the same and employed a similar style of play.
The Dutchman just added a few personal tweaks to the tactics to kick-start a new era at Anfield. This year is different, though, as Liverpool was busy with business during the summer transfer market.
Slot’s first-ever summer transfer window as the Reds manager resulted in a single signing: Federico Chiesa from Juventus. The club also signed Giorgi Mamardashvili, but the Georgian only joined the club this season.
This summer was the total opposite of last year as the Reds gaffer went all in to make a statement. There were major departures like Darwin Núñez, Luis Díaz, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jarell Quansah and more.
The management had to do some renovations, but the Merseysiders have still managed to win their first four Premier League games this season. However, Alisson Becker is of a different opinion when it comes to adaptability, as the Brazilian says that the new players have time to fit in.

Alisson misses Díaz and Núñez, and Salah talks about adapting to issues

“All the players who left were important. Lucho, Darwin, they all made a difference for us with their goals or their playing, fighting, and defending. They had good energy, and we miss them.”
“The ones who arrived are stars; they’re doing very well with their contributions, and they have a lot of quality. It’s clear we want to improve because we need to; we have many competitions to play”, Becker told ESPN.
Mohamed Salah also admits that the club is working a lot on making players gel with each other. The major changes have affected chemistry, and the Reds will need some time to get back to their best.
“The players are adapting to our system. We try to make them comfortable in a game. Alex also came last week, and he’s going to be in the team. We try to find the balance.”
“So far, I didn’t figure the connections out yet. Like with Darwin or Lucho or the guys they used to play in front, or Diogo. I knew where to start with Diogo or Darwin. I know where to find them.”
“I knew their game very well, but with Hugo, he’s still new. Sometimes I need the ball in the field. Sometimes we need it in the space”, Salah said on Men in Blazers.
