Real Madrid have turned out to be the most eager Liverpool customers as the Spanish giants seem interested in everyone who leaves Anfield at this point.
They signed fan favourite Trent Alexander-Arnold this summer as Los Blancos made a significant payment to get the Englishman’s services before his contract expiry.
After winning it all at the club level with his boyhood club at the age of 26, the right-back decided to take on a new challenge in Southern Europe under Xabi Alonso.
Despite having competition from Dani Carvajal, the 26-year-old seems to be adapting well under Spanish gaffer Xabi Alonso. However, Real Madrid haven’t stopped there as they try to buy another out-of-contract Liverpool player next summer.
There were some hopes alive as Ibrahima Konaté’s agent was in talks with the Reds management regarding an extension. Unfortunately for Arne Slot, the talks didn’t reach their goals as Konaté seems to have decided to leave Anfield at the end of the season.
It is a complicated situation as Slot won’t be keen on letting his first-choice centre back leave for free. On the other hand, the Frenchman seems confident in joining Los Blancos for free at the end of the season.
Quiz: Can you name the team Liverpool sold these players to?

Interestingly, Xabi Alonso has picked up an appetite for ex-Liverpool players as the Spaniard wants to expand beyond Ibrahima Konaté.
It won’t come as a surprise, though, as the former Liverpool player would also like to get his hands on the Reds’ Egyptian King, Mohamed Salah.
According to Football Insider, their sources have indicated that Real Madrid might make a surprise move for Salah as the latter’s contract ends in 2027.
Los Blancos plan to sign Konaté as a free agent despite Liverpool’s pressure to sell the Frenchman in the winter. The Spanish giants will be taking a similar approach with Mohamad Salah.
Despite signing a contract extension last season, the winger seems to be in the final stretches of his Liverpool career. It would be saddening to see Salah leave as the African will have led the frontline for a decade in 2027.
However, he also has other options. At 35, Salah might want something easier than top European football. The Saudi Pro League is heavily invested in the player following their attempt to snap up both the Egyptian and Bruno Fernandes this summer.
