Sky Sports Germany report that Liverpool are yet to make a concrete offer for Ibrahima Konate but with the defender ‘dissatisfied’, a summer move is likely.
It seems too good to be true but Anfield Central sources can confirm that, as things stand, talks between RB Leipzig and Liverpool are progressing well and it seems as though he is destined for a move to the Premier League.
On Monday, David Ornstein reported that Liverpool were ‘finalising a deal’ for Konate after we exclusively reported in mid-February that the Reds were looking to get a deal for the Frenchman completed by the end of the season.

Now, Sky Sports Germany claim that RB Leipzig are yet to receive a ‘concrete offer’ but go onto say that the player is unhappy with the Bundesliga side and a move in the summer is ‘quite conceivable.’
Signing Konate would strengthen Liverpool greatly
Adding Konate to their ranks would be a major boost for Liverpool, with Joe Gomez and Joel Matip both proving unable to overcome their injury records while the former is likely to be given more leeway due to his age and incredible potential.
As Anfield Central’s Patrick Hayes wrote, Gomez is the most talented young defender in Europe and if it weren’t for serious knee injuries hampering his progress, he’d likely be one of the best centre-backs in the world and not just his age group.
Jurgen Klopp’s likely thrilled about the prospect of having selection issues at centre-half that don’t involve deciding which of his best midfielders should drop in between his fullbacks.

Konate’s move to Liverpool seems to be an inevitability with RB Leipzig accepting his desire to move, Liverpool keen to sign him and the player himself intent on a summer departure.
The French defender has a £34.1million release clause in his contract and while Liverpool are doing their best to get RBL to drop their price, if the Anfield outfit activates the clause, Julian Nagelsmann will be powerless to stop him from leaving the club.
