Liverpool’s pursuit of Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala has encountered significant obstacles, with reports emerging that the highly-rated attacker has rejected Bayern’s latest contract offer.
Musiala, who has had an impressive start to the season with two goals and one assist in four games under new manager Vincent Kompany, is one of the most sought-after young talents in Europe.
Top clubs like Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Liverpool have expressed interest, especially following his contract rejection.
The Mirror, via the Express, has reported that Musiala turned down a £300k-a-week deal from Bayern, alerting clubs that a transfer may become viable.
However, his valuation is set at approximately £120 million, which will limit the number of clubs capable of affording him. With his current contract expiring in 2026, Bayern will likely look for solutions before the end of the season if they fail to secure his long-term future.

While Musiala’s potential availability is enticing, Liverpool could face challenges related to their wage structure. Currently, Mohamed Salah is the highest earner at the club with a salary of £350k per week, while Virgil van Dijk is on approximately £220k per week.
If Liverpool were to pursue Musiala, they would likely have to offer him wages above £300k, which could disrupt the club’s financial balance.
Musiala’s talent is undeniable, as he demonstrated by scoring in just 15 seconds during Bayern’s recent 6-1 win over Holsten Kiel, recording the club’s third-fastest goal in history.
With 12 goals and eight assists last season, along with three goals in the Euros, the 21-year-old is emerging as one of the brightest stars in world football.
However, the financial implications of bringing him to Anfield could prove too costly for Liverpool, especially with other clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester City in the race.
