Shock club interested in January move for Liverpool star

Rafael Benítez opens up about Arne Slot

Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes is preparing for a huge transfer window for the club. The hierarchy want to back Arne Slot with players who could reinforce their title challenge in the latter half of the season but a few are also expected to leave.

The Merseyside giants want to sign a centre-back and a midfielder in the January transfer window and the club are carrying out due diligence on potential deals.

Liverpool are also aware that they will need to sell players not only to raise funds but to make space in their wage bill and squad for the arrival of new signings.

Wataru Endo is likely to move on from Anfield in the winter window with several clubs in the Premier League and Europe believed to be interested in signing him.

Liverpool have swatted away talk of Federico Chiesa leaving despite incessant talk of clubs in Italy wanting to sign him on loan in the January transfer window.

Turkey calling for Federico Chiesa

Chiesa, who is unhappy in England, has played just 78 minutes of football since his arrival in the summer and his lack of fitness has disappointed everyone at Liverpool, including Slot.

He has not played since before the October international break and there is no clarity when he will be fit enough to get on the pitch again for the Reds.

Liverpool have calmed talk of the winger leaving on loan in the winter window but his agent has held talks with a couple of clubs in Italy, including Inter Milan.

However, according to Turkish outlet Fotomac, he is attracting serious interest from Turkey ahead of the winter transfer window.

It has been claimed that Galatasaray are prepared to make a move to land Chiesa from Liverpool in January.

The club are plotting to make a loan offer to the Reds to sign the Italian winger in the winter transfer window.

Galatasaray boss Okan Boruk is a big admirer of Chiesa and believes the player could make a real difference to the team in the latter half of the season.

However, they will have to convince Liverpool to let him leave on loan as for the moment the Reds do not seem interested in a mid-season move for Chiesa.
