Liverpool are almost certain to sign a top striker in the summer transfer window as part of their plans. Arne Slot wants a new number to lead the line next season, and the Premier League champions are favourites to sign a top forward in the Premier League.
Darwin Nunez was celebrating widely after Liverpool won the Premier League title on Sunday, and will get a league winners’ medal at the end of the season.
However, the Uruguayan is almost certain to leave the Reds in the summer, and his departure could be finalised as soon as the season ends if he ends up in Saudi Arabia.
Alexander Isak is the player Liverpool want, but he is likely to be far too expensive. The Reds are considering alternatives, and they have been tipped to sign one more Premier League striker.

The Reds are the favourites to land a top striker

Ollie Watkins’ future at Aston Villa is under the scanner due to the club’s need to sell a couple of players in the summer to remain within the Premier League’s PSR guidelines.
If Villa decide to sign Marcus Rashford on a permanent deal, Watkins is almost certain to leave, and Liverpool are interested in taking him to Anfield in the upcoming window.
Mick Brown, a former Villa scout, conceded if the Reds are interested in the forward, he would almost certainly move to Anfield in the coming months.
He believes if Liverpool can guarantee a starting spot, there is no reason for the striker not to join the Reds.
“When you’re Premier League champions, you always have the upper hand when it comes to transfers, particularly if you can offer a place in the starting XI”, Brown told Football Insider.
“If you offered Watkins the chance to become the starting striker for Liverpool, he’d want to make that move.
“So if he leaves Villa, there’s no doubt there will be interest, and Liverpool would be the favourites.”
