Sealed and completed: Premier League side signs 19-year-old Liverpool starlet on five-year deal

NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, ENGLAND - JUNE 25: Remi Savage poses for Photographs after signing for Newcastle United at St.James’ Park on June 25, 2021 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.

Newcastle United have confirmed that 19-year-old Remi Savage has joined them as Liam Millar nears a Merseyside exit as well.

A post from the Magpies website reads: “Savage arrives from his boyhood club Liverpool, where he had been since the age of five.

“Now 19 years old, he is predominately a left-sided centre-back but is also comfortable at left-back.”

“It’s a new challenge and it’s good to maybe get out of my comfort zone and move to a new club – and a massive club as well,” Savage told nufc.co.uk.

“Hopefully I can show everyone what I’ve got, and progress with Newcastle.

“I feel like it was the right time for a new chapter and hopefully I can push on from here.”

Meanwhile, in other Liverpool Academy news, Liam Millar is set to join Basel permanently for ‘a seven-figure’ fee, according to the Liverpool ECHO.

Millar is ‘expected’ to move to Switzerland after a bid from Basel was accepted and after spending five years with the Merseyside outfit, his stay will soon come to an end.

Sam Carroll, the author of the report, claims that he is close to agreeing personal terms and Liverpool “are close to confirming a deal.”

Millar’s imminent exit comes shortly after Anfield Central was given confirmation that Fatawu Issahakue has joined the club despite suggestions otherwise.

It was denied by domestic sources earlier this week but a senior source from Ghana told us that the deal is complete and that he will spend the 2021/22 season on loan in Portugal.

A source with knowledge on Ghanain football and Issahaku, in particular, told us about his ‘ferocious talent.’

A shakeup of the Liverpool Academy is underway as the Reds move on players that aren’t expected to make an impact on the first team while bringing in future stars.

Much like Harvey Elliott, Issahaku is a left-footed attacker very comfortable on the left wing but is also able to play on the right flank while more than capable of causing damage in a central role.

A Ghanaian source with close ties to the player described the 17-year-old as a ‘ferocious talent’ that is being compared to the great Abedi Pele.
