Saudi club to table gargantuan bid for Liverpool star

source: Imago

Liverpool are plotting a revamp of the set-up in the summer as Arne Slot pushes for a younger squad for next season. The club will have funds to spend, but their transfer plans will also depend on the club getting good fees for some of their potential departures. It seems the Saudis are here to lend a helping hand.

Slot wants to carry out a reconfiguration of his attack for next season, and wants to bring in younger talents to replace some of the more established stars in the forward line.

With Mo Salah signed up on a new deal, the Liverpool manager wants to surround his talisman with young and energetic forwards ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Darwin Nunez is almost certain to leave, but Liverpool are expected to entertain offers for a few more forwards, and it seems there is Saudi interest in one of them.

Can you name these 10 former Premier League players?

Barring Salah, Luis Diaz has played the most number of minutes in a Liverpool shirt under Slot and has scored 15 goals for the club this season.

However, his future at Liverpool is under the scanner as the club are considering cashing in on him, with two years left to run on his deal.

Barcelona have been interested, but they are unlikely to stand a chance of signing him due to interest from Saudi Arabia in his services.

The Saudi Pro League has earmarked him as a potential target, and according to Ben Jacobs (cited by CaughtOffside), Al Nassr are interested in getting their hands on the Liverpool star.

The Colombian has emerged as an alternative target to Vinicius Junior, and the Saudi outfit are seriously considering signing the winger this summer.

It has been claimed that Al Nassr could table an offer that could be too hard to turn down for both Liverpool and Diaz in the next window.
