Liverpool’s star Mohamed Salah is currently going through a blip in front of goal but is statistically his worst run of form during his time at the club.
We’re all used to seeing Salah score at a regular rate – after all, he’s won three golden boots in five seasons.
But his current poor form, alongside the rest of the team’s, is a real rough patch for the Egyptian.
After reviewing the statistics, it makes out that this is Salah’s worst run of form since he joined Liverpool, but how worrying is it?

Salah’s worst ever Liverpool form
Mo Salah has scored only seven goals in his last 28 games, but the expectation at Anfield is that this is just a temporary blip – according to Neil Jones at GOAL.
With two goals in his first seven competitive matches – we won’t count the FA Community Shield – this is his worst start, goalscoring-wise, to a season since joining Liverpool in 2017.
So far this season, he’s only scored against Fulham and Manchester United as he’s faced his slowest goal-scoring start to a season since before his Liverpool days.
There have even been calls from Graeme Souness that “I’ve certainly not been seeing the same Salah. He has signed the big contract he wanted and I really hope we are not seeing him getting semi into his armchair because of that.”
He may not have been scoring but it doesn’t mean he’s not been playing well.

Less goals but creating more chances
The goals may have dried up, but looking at the other aspects of his game shows us that he’s been more creative than ever. According to Squawka, Salah has the most chances created in Europe’s top five leagues this season.
He also has the most key passes per game than anyone else in the Premier League – even Kevin De Bruyne – according to FbRef (via Football365)
Even looking at his shots per game from last year compared to this season – it’s way down. Perhaps with the departure of Sadio Mane and the addition of Darwin Nunez, maybe he feels the need to support them by being less selfish but by doing so he’s taken away what made him so goal focused and driven.
He was managing four a game last year and now it’s down to two – there’s been a marketable difference and more of a focus on creating rather than scoring.
