RB Leipzig interested in Liverpool’s £22m rated midfielder – player unhappy with contract situation and could leave this summer

Ibrahima Konate celebrates with Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita and Roberto Firmino

Liverpool face a tough situation with Naby Keita after claims he is unhappy with his current contract situation and could return to Germany.

The Reds face an injury crisis of up to 10 casualties and they’ve been hit the hardest in midfield.

With fans wanting news of potential incomings to the club, the latest news today is that Keita is unhappy with his current squad role and contact situation.

It’s even been revealed that his old club RB Leipzig are reportedly interested in re-signing their former player. Which way is this one going to go?

Keita unhappy at Liverpool?

The reports coming out today paint a picture of a player who is worried about his deal as the club runs the risk of losing him for free next summer if they don’t commit to him.

Melissa Reddy on Sky Sports News claimed: “Sky Germany, who have a very close relationship with his agency are reporting that he is unhappy with his situation at Liverpool.”

However, Liverpool still hope to reach a solution over new terms and the club has no intention of allowing Keita to leave this window, as per Daily Mail Sport.

Reddy suggested that Liverpool are still not fully convinced by the player: “You could say that Liverpool are unhappy with Naby Keita because of the player they thought they were buying and what they got.”

Perhaps it’s why Liverpool are dragging their feet when it comes to the contract details. Especially given that the club are assessing short-term midfield options this summer.

Although the same source claims that Klopp does not see solutions in the current transfer market, which suggest they are holding out for a long-term target which could be Jude Bellingham.
