Liverpool will be active in the transfer market this summer.
As much as the team will be heavily involved in signing new players, some players will be heading out of the door. Arne Slot has done a great job this season with the current Liverpool squad. The former Feyenoord coach has transformed the team and brought out the best from some players.
Despite the job done tactically, the team’s quality has been a worrying problem. Liverpool have signed just two first team players this season. The reds are working on major deals this summer, looking to revamp the squad ahead of next season.

The attack has been a point of concern this season. Reports claim Arne Slot is not happy with the personnel outside Mohammed Salah. Salah has 25 goals in the Premier League this season and the next highest is Luis Diaz with nine goals. The Colombian has regularly been deployed in a central role this season and has not been prolific in front of goal. Diogo Jota, who has also been used as a striker, has also not been on the pitch enough to make an impact.
This season Darwin Nunez has been out of favour under Arne Slot. The Liverpool boss has chosen to use Diaz and Jota ahead of the Uruguayan striker. Nunez has been relegated to a rotation role in the squad this season. The 25-year old is set to leave Anfield this summer, he has drawn a lot of attention from Atletico Madrid.
According to TEAMtalk, Wolverhampton Wanderers are looking at signing Diogo Jota. The Premier League club are reportedly eager to bring back the Portuguese forward, who they sold to the reds back in 2020. Liverpool will allow Jota to leave Anfield this summer, and Wolves are said to be very interested in signing the 28-year old. The reds will be looking for a fee around £55m, with Jota’s contract at Anfield running until the summer of 2027.
Jota has had a very good career with Liverpool, scoring 64 goals in 174 appearances.
Time to sell Jota
Diogo Jota’s availability has been a major problem since he joined Liverpool. The forward has been a great rotation option for the club, and has scored a lot of big goals, but he has not been able to stay fit. With Arne Slot needing new faces in the door this summer, the 28-year old could be one of the first faces out of the door. Liverpool earning a decent fee would allow the club to sort out a decent replacement.
