What Jurgen Klopp needs to do to get Liverpool firing on all cylinders

Jurgen Klopp needs to play his strongest midfield possible to get the best of his team which involves handing a string of starts to Nathaniel Philipps.

Liverpool are in crisis mode. There are no two ways about it. Five Premier League games with zero wins is where Klopp's men find themselves.

You can blame injuries for the domino effect they're having on the champions but that's not going to solve the issues at hand.

Liverpool have been toothless for the last few weeks while their defence hasn't been all that bad. With Joel Matip back on the pitch, Klopp needs to move Fabinho back into midfield and get his side back to their high intensity best.

Starting Nathaniel Philipps in defence will enable Klopp to play Fabinho in midfield alongside Thiago and Jordan Henderson which will, in turn, allow the Reds to keep their opposition penned back.

When Klopp was first appointed as Liverpool manager, he said: "No playmaker in the world can be as good as a good counter-pressing situation."

Having Fabinho anchoring the midfield will allow Henderson and Thiago to pull the strings from midfield.

What Klopp can do for the front three's apparent inability to score is unknown but Liverpool have gone too long without their best midfield and it's time to see if that can be the solution to the champions' problems.
