Andy Robertson and Luis Diaz appear to have zero chemistry but a simple tweak for Jurgen Klopp to implement would get them both firing on all cylinders.

Against Fulham, one of my most worrying takeaways was that it appeared as though the Reds two left-sided players had very little chemistry and rarely combined in attack.

It was an issue all over the park really as Joel Matip's wayward pass to

Robertson was offside for the incredibly well-finished goal Luis Diaz scored which was then chalked off.

While the Scotsman couldn't have known that Diaz would score like that but he should have timed his run better for the pass that Firmino slipped through.

Diaz, who joined Liverpool for just £37M, very almost scored again, flashing a shot across goal that thundered against the far post. Things may have turned out very differently had the Reds taken the lead and settled the early-season nerves.

The main issue that I highlighted early was the lack of interplay and chemistry between Diaz and Robertson.

However, I think a small tweak from Jurgen Klopp would get them both firing all cylinders.

Diaz already looks very bright and Robertson, despite being offside and not defending to his normal standards, looked good going forward but he seemed to delay passes to Diaz when the Reds had an avenue to attack down the left channel and it slowed things down at times.

But the main issue is the difference between Mane and Diaz.

Mane was often instructed to take up a very narrow position between the left back and the centre half which wreaked havoc due to the runs he could make in behind while also offering a pass inside where he could drift centrally into a false nine role.

With Darwin Nunez now fully occupying the central area of the attack, Diaz is forced to play mostly out wide.

Against Fulham, he took up his natural position very far outside on the flank, playing at times as a classic no.11, getting chalk on his boots but the issue it creates is that he, in turn, takes up the space that Andy Robertson could exploit by making his own runs down the left.

Diaz needs to drift inwards a little bit more to create the space for Robertson that I believe would get both of them involved and help further foster the type of chemistry that has seen Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah break and set numerous records each.

Robertson, who is worth £54M, is capable of the numbers that his fullback partner achieved last season but the current setup isn't conducive to getting the most out of his attacking game.
