Konate arrives and £75m duo is signed - How Liverpool could line up next season

Liverpool signing Ibrahima Konate, Yves Bissouma and Donyell Malen would be the perfect way to reinforce the squad for the 2021/22 Premier League season.

Jurgen Klopp might be holidaying on a yacht but you can rest assured he will be keen to see his side bounce back and win the title next season after finishing third this term.

The German has already signed Konate from RB Leipzig for £36m and the 22-year-old is expected to start the season in central defence alongside Virgil van Dijk assuming there are no setbacks in his rehabilitation.

Beyond the French giant, Liverpool's transfer plans are uncertain as they largely depend on outgoings as the Reds are unwilling to risk investing capital without knowing what they will be able to gain from player sales.

This unwillingness stems from Liverpool Football Club recording a £46million loss for the financial year ending on 31 May, 2020.

That said, Liverpool should not pass up on the opportunity to sign Bissouma and Malen as they perfectly address the key issues within the squad and would mean Klopp would have the depth necessary to challenge for major honours again.

Brighton want £50million for Bissouma, as Anfield Central revealed in May, and while this saw Liverpool cool their interest, they won't find a better midfielder for a cheaper price this summer.

Upfront, Liverpool need more firepower. That much is obvious. While Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane ended the Premier League season with a flurry of goals, they were poor for a large part of the season.

Klopp will be all too aware of the danger of going into next season without adding another attacker as he runs the risk of either burning Mohamed Salah out or having the Egyptian once again be the only player consistently scoring goals.

For me, the simple solution is to sign Donyell Malen.

He's still only 22 and looks to be a sensational attacking talent as he has showcased at the EUROs with the Netherlands but he earned his call up with 27 goals and 10 assists for PSV Eindhoven.

Signing Konate, Bissouma and Malen would run Liverpool up in the region of £113million.

The Frenchman's fee has already been subsidised by qualifying for the Champions League which the Liverpool Echo reports earned them around £32m which means that only £4m was required to be fronted up by FSG.

Liverpool should act fast to sign Bissouma for £50m and Donyell Malen for the £25million that Voetbal International claims PSV Eindhoven wants for their Dutch forward.

Potential starting XI: Alisson, Robertson, van Dijk, Konate, Trent, Fabinho, Hendo, Bissouma (or Thiago), Mane, Malen, Salah.
